Star Wars/Boy Layout

Wow wee, its been some time since my last post...I have been busy to say the least.  Between Halloween Festitivities, Scrapbook Expo, my children's activities...I'm barely finding a moment to finish up some Layout's I've started.

This is a LO I created for my Son's 2010 Halloween as Darth Vader.  Since there were no pumpkins or halloween decor' around him in this shot, I didn't want to create a traditional halloween LO, so I opted to do a Star Wars themed one.

The following Cricut Cartridges were used:
Hannah Montana - "Force" Title
DC Comics Batman - "Dark" Title
George Fonts/Shapes - Stars
*Bling Added from Want2Scrap
*Pearls from Queen & Co.
*Bakers Twine, buttons and ribbons from my "stash".
*Star Wars Paper from Hobby Lobby Paper Pack

Super Hero Birthday Layout

This is a layout I created for my son's 4th Power Ranger Birthday Party introduction page. He's 7 now, but I am catching up on birthday's....yeah, I'm far behind to say the least! ****Just so you all know BIRTHDAY is purposely spelt wrong because I spelt it how my son used to pronounce it that way!****

This LO uses the following cricut cartridges:
MS Seasonal Cakes (layered background circles & award layers)
DC Batman (font used for "hero" layers)
Best of 2006 ("birthday")
DC Superman (layered clouds/sun)
Thank you so much for looking!

So What's New Blog Hop!

Thank you for visiting my blog from Becky @  BecciRay.blogspot.com
I'm sure you enjoyed what she has shared!  I look forward to everyone playing on our Hop!

This Blog Hop begins with Leah from: mycraftandchatcafe.blogspot.com. This is a 2 day Hop with a group of new bloggers excited to be part of the "Bloglicious" crafting world!  Thank you so much for stopping by!

Thank you for stopping by and viewing my project! Instructions for this card are below:

First, I got the idea for the card size from one of my favorite blogs; noelmignon.com (she has so many terrific ideas).   This card is wonderfully excellent size as it gives you the ability to use up all of those white letter size envelopes we all have sitting around.
Card Size 4 inches width, 9 inches height (4" x 9")
To create this particular card size I cut a piece of black cardstock into 8" x 9" size and folded in half to make it now an 4" x 9".
Next I created a patterned paper layer from last years DCWV Halloween stack.  The layered strip measures 3 1/2" x 8 1/2".  I also adorned the strip with a strip of purple and black ribbon.
From that point I used black cardstock and my Cricut Expression to create the black spider web embellishment from the new Theresa Collins Chic and Scary cart (web measures 4 1/2").  Then I used the same cartridge to cut the tree embellishment at 3".  I also used the same cart to cut the spider at 1 1/4".  To give the card a little extra I used some of this fake spider web stuff I picked up at a scrapbook expo.  I also used red bling embellishments on the spider and used Queen & Co. pearl accents and finally I used Little Yellow Bicycle "Happy Halloween" Canvas Tag.

Again, thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoy! Your next stop today will be:

For this challenge I used the "Exclusive Cricut Circle Sophie" Cartridge for the  1/2 circle Doily's, "Give a Hoot" Cartridge for the Leaves and Layered Flower and the "Graphically Speaking" Cartridge for the "remember" title.

This LO acts as the introductary LO from our combined family vacation to the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Az and the Polar Express Train in Williams, Az.  This was such a wonderful family vacation with another one of our closest families and I am still working on completing the album for each of my children!

My Lil' Golfer

This is a 2 page LO I created to signify the first time my son used his real golf clubs.  He received these clubs for his 6th birthday from his grandparents and couldn't wait to use them.  I used a variety of carts to create these 2 pages.  The first page of the LO I created from a variety of ideas I had collected in my head, however, I must pay credit where credit is due and page 2 of the LO is completely inspired by one of Kimberly Garofolo's (http://kimberlygarofolo.typepad.com/capturing_the_moments/).

Page 1 of LO

I used PC "Sports Mania" cartridge for the "Golf Addict".  Clouds are from "April Showers" cartridge, sun is from the "Word Builders - an Ocean of Words".  I used ink to color up the sun and clouds.  The grass and flags was left over Jolee products I had in my stash.

LO Page 2

Here I used the "Varsity Letters" cartridge to create the "Swing" and the "April Showers" cartridge for the cloud.  The poem is a short one I picked up from scrapbook.com.

Thanks for Looking :)

Meeting a Legend LO

I made this LO, using Plantin Schoolbook and MS Seasonal Cake Cricut cartridges for the decorative penants & stars.  This was an awesome moment for my little guy!  He got to meet a real baseball legend at the game where he and his Little League team were the stars on the field with the real players!  It was such a wonderful night for the entire family!

Crafty Chicks Summer Challenge #2

Wynn brings us this week’s challenge. She says,
“Create a layout and “Capture the Details!” Scrap about something so familiar you tend to take it for granted. Maybe it’s the books on your bookshelf or your refrigerator artwork that you might see all the time and your family might not know why.”

I took this challenge to heart and although my house is torn apart from remodeling, I have my craft area still in tact....so with that said, I know that I am working on my daughter's 9th birthday, but then it hit me....I want to capture the details in her.  I see her everyday and life takes hold of us and we forget our children's facial expressions, excitement and innocence.  Thus I made this LO to capture her joy and excitement as we sang happy birthday to her.  Although for safety issues, I have blocked her face, ther expressions are truly priceless and they definately "Capture the Details" and "moment".

For this LO, I used the Gypsy Shapes for the floral background and the Hannah Montana Cart for the butterflies.

Crafty Chicks Summer Challenge #1

Challenge #1 was as follows:

1. Scrap something you have been “meaning” to scrap. This could be a card, a LO, or an altered item.
2. Include the color YELLOW for summer!
3. Include embossing (either dry or wet)
4. Distress something, and...
5. Include at least one flower type embellishment

For this challenge I chose to start scrapping my daughter's just past 9th birthday because if I don't do it in the present it will sit in my past pile...which is tremendously big!  I admit I totally scraplifted this idea from the Cricut Circle Blog, July Memory Monday designer Jillian Deiling Cassity.  I used the Stand and Salute Cricut Cartridge to create the rainbow (used my gypsy to weld), the Graphically Speaking Cartridge for the Sun and the clouds were on Word Builders 3 An Ocean of Words Cartridge.  I used blue inking to the clouds and orange to the sun.  The blue paper is embossed, but hard to tell in the photos and of course I added some blingy flowers and chipboard letters to complete the LO!

Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge

Wow, I feel so out of the loop!  Been such a busy busy busy summer!!!  I haven't had a moment until now to create a LO!  I am attempting to create my children's 4th of July LO's!!  Here is the one I have created just in the nick of time for the challenge entry!  I used both the Stand and Salute Cartridge as well as the Independance Day Solutions Cartridge; used these cartridges for the banner, stars, title phrase and dog tag.
